Hi all,
A while back I had posted a question concerning the sudden unavailability of synchronizing my video's shots between N82 and PC. Nokia Photo application and Lifeblog downloaded all the photo's in the Pictures directory into folders, but NOT the video's and even the trick updating the Timeline didn't work. By now I had more than 10 video's of which out of frustration I deleted a few thinking it might be a memory problem (which was impossible because for that reason I had inserted extra memory card).
Anyway just out of sheer luck I browsed to Nokia forum and there I read a tread regarding almost the same problem and the solution or how it came to be solved and so thus mine. To make a long story short, he bought a phone thinking it had the latest version but it was not, did upgrades but under the wrong assumption that all applications were a part of the same process.
With other words in my N82 case, Nokia Photo's had a new addition with a new application called Nokia Nseries VIDEO MANAGER, only after downloading this version was I finally able to synchronize the files to the PC! I had no idea that a new conversion was launched with special features for video and film editing.
If only somewhere a line was added or specified that previous under Nokia Photo's the possibility had changed/transferred to the new Video Manager application, it would definitely saved me from many hours of frustration.
Hopefully anyone who was looking for an answer can now simply click and download the application to solve this problem and shoot at will to share these images now again.
"Girls defies Caste for love marriage, dies mysteriously at Current News India", I've been following this through the local newspaper and I searched for a news feed on the internet. Please read and comment on Honour Killings in modern India, VOTE AGAINST IT!!

Most of the time we all just flip through the local newspaper, seldom do we read articles worthwhile to hold our attention. Unless it really follows a more in depth story, which mostly describes the shortcomings and failure of justice or revealing of double standards in all layers of society. The upper echelon in politics of this society has never heard of setting the right examples or virtue of righteous. Same as journalism, the articles are either written in paparazzi style, non-informative or self-worth. But occasionally the eye catches stories worth it's salt to share, little gems of rarities showing a glimpse of life in New Delhi, India.
Going to Hauz Khas you pass Deer Park entrance and close to it is a Gallery of Modern/contemporary Art located. There we saw for the first time a life-size stone sculpture of a phallus and at the time we found it so bizarre since the Hindi culture covers everything (except belly part). Big surprise when I was flipping through the newspaper pages my eye saw the picture first and with high raised eyebrows I caught the title above.
Anything can in this country in Bikaner, Deshnok the famous Karni Mata Temple is were holy rats are worshiped and an odd 20,000 of Kabbas (that's how they are called) this is their home. In Hindu belief all gods have taken animal forms, so for them it is very common and natural.
"Unlike the rest of the world, where rats are commonly killed for inhabiting the same space as humans, in this temple the rat residents are treated with sincere devotion. The veneration is so complete that if someone accidentally steps on a rat and kills it, they are expected to buy a gold or silver rat and place it in the temple as atonement.
For an animal that is commonly associated with pestilence and disease,
this may seem strange. But during the century of this temple's
existence, there has never been an outbreak of plague or other rat-borne
illness among the humans who have visited—which may be a miracle in
itself." (quoted from original full article National Geographic June 29,2004).
You shouldn't be surprised after all....

Since we moved in our home in New Delhi we have wall leakage and the promise
repair was under way, that was more than a year ago and only more problems
appeared on the basement walls. Often the cause ranges from bad water pipes,
window frames and most of the time just the missing of a good sealant could
have prevented most troubles or more damages. And don't forget environmental
influences by Monsoon rains, causing floods and other niceties, luckily we
never had these problems and this year was the driest Monsoon season ever.
But our very smart Supervisor blames the weather gods rather than his own
incompetence or just admitting he doesn't have any clue at all. You can't
blame him for not having the knowledge, most likely he comes from a very
small rural village without much education. Unfortunately arrogance and
ignorance are human flaws he could opt not to choose....alas. India has the
brightest brains but I'm surrounded with the lesser gifted ones to do him
just he's not alone. His boss, company, country thrives on people like him,
cheap labour and a life more or less are not the cost. It's sickening, you
want to see change but they don't, it had worked for centuries so why change
is most of the time their reply. Eventually either the client will sort out
the mess one way or another, if he doesn't it will be more costly to fix
repairs going wrong or no result at all. They can come up with mind-blowing
solutions you never heard or would dream off, I must have mention in other
posts and blogs of inserting two electrical wires without plug into the
socket wall with sparks coming out!
We had painters on a regular basis covering aesthetically the areas but the
builders choose to avoid addressing the core of the problem. As mentioned
earlier the mould on the wall was the last draw and the Landlord advised by
Supervisor and another specialist decided that breaking the wall is the
solution to find out more.
Finally something is going to happen, workers would arrive shortly (read:
two weeks and many calls) with professional equipment was said. They did
arrive with a hobby craft cutting machine followed by usual muscle work
pounding heavily on to the outer wall.
The breaking and planned digging as a one day job, will now be a full on
week circus adventure with only more surprise of the local work ethic. Crew
(2 man only) arrived at 4pm, the day came to an end, so they left before it
even became dark and today is another public holiday, Mahatma Gandhi's
birthday, followed by the weekend.... They'll continue on Monday unless they
do show up on Saturday.
As a result of heavy hammering on the walls, we found this morning the whole
cabinet on the floor with contents. It totally came off and crushed on the
floor luckily no horrid accident occurred with family members or guests
around. The only two who had heard the noise, was our helper at 5am, who
almost jumped out of her skin upon hearing the cracking noise but thought we
had noticed it too and our daughter vast asleep she thought it was heavy
thunder and lightning crushing down on the house.
The pounding must have resonated through the basement walls. With the wall
stripped it only showed that the cabinet wasn't attached to the wall by
bolts or on hinges, but with a bit of glue and screws.
One look and I
remembered our Landlord introductory words during handover of the keys; He
vowed for the use of high quality and craftsmanship; renowned builder and
construction company etc. etc. Well his property is falling apart and what
does become visible as evidence is the opposite of his claims, missing of or
poor finish, damages to interior during final building stage, constructions
mistakes and underneath the veneer everything is literally cracking,
breaking and now falling apart too.
This morning we received magazine advertising and even mobile message about
a new housing project, for 4-8 crore (1 lakh = 100,000 and 1 crore = 100
Lakh or 10,000,000/10miljoen) or more you can call yourself owner of a newly
constructed house in New Delhi or Gurgaon. Take your pick!
Living here I would be tempted to follow the elderly from a previous generation, it would be much safer too sit on top of your money then invest in
bricks, they are made very fast while hardly dried to be moved to a building
pit to make a wall. While the mortar is slashed onto the stones the row
beneath are starting to crumble apart. I can't help but wonder what the heck
happened to India, they've created beautiful historical structures like the
Taj Mahal in Agra, Safdarjung and Humayun Tombs here in New Delhi where you
truly can see the craftsmanship and architectural knowledge and skill.
What happened to these people and where has the knowledge gone?
I'm trying to make better photo's of cooked food, these have been taken with mobile phone camera N82; on/off flash mode; and set the scenery on automatic and in close-up mode. Not easy without studio lightnings to get dishes as yummy as possible, I often find certain features missing which in real life just makes all the difference gone within a flash.
Not always a camera ready the mobile phone camera's with the high pixels come in very handy, but still for food dishes it remains a challenge. If you have any digital camera tips and mobile phone use, please share your thoughts and experience with me.
Have a look at the photo's and tell which mode is better, and by the way the Pie is a variation on the Dutch Apple Pie which I created for my hubby when I had one of my bake mania's, this version has pineapple added to it, grated nimbu peel and home-made marzipan among the ingredients. The Apple-pineapple pie was eaten quicker than the time spent preparing and baking. Just lucky to have made these pictures right after it came out of the oven, because when I turned around there was only an empty plate and a few crumbs left.
Good news!

With every move either back where home is or country moves we have to set-up and find our way around. Our first interest is the well being of our family and we treasure our tresses for which we only want the best. I can only speak for myself but cutting and coloring is the last thing I'll do and the first thing I begin with is washing and blow-dry followed after setting either by a straightening or curling thong to check the skill level and friendliness around.
After our arrival I asked around for recommendations and I was advised to go to Affinity in Vasant Vihar, well I've tried not only myself but even the male's for a haircut. What could go wrong with that? Well, let's not go into details but that shop is a big no-no for me. However they have another branch at Green Park which is located in our neighborhood and a different place has different employees, my first visit was actually the best had a good hair wash, cut (by then no choice) and blow-dry with just a finishing touch with the curling thong, price was even reasonable. Unfortunately the last hairdresser damaged it badly causing even my hair to break off at the top and the prices were fluctuating (going up) while I did the same treatment with every visit. Affinity is definitely off my list and instead of recommending I would strongly advice other salons instead.
On the same stretch at Green Park Market at the back, you'll find Madonna Hairsalon and living for almost a year now and visited several hair-salons this is far out one of the better salons where I've had my hair treatments.
To give an idea, my hair is mid-long and I had a touch-up, trimming, wash, straightening/curl thong and as an extra treat added a manicure and pedicure for a total of 2,000 Rs. Went back few days later for just blow-dry & finishing curl thong 350 Rs. plus 50Rs for hair-treading.
Had coffee with Josianne, a beautiful neighbor who just arrived in July she also visits the same salon and goes in twice weekly. As a regular client she knows the salon as no other and introduced me to her hair-specialist Nikhil and another colleaque, if they are not around it is indeed a bad hair day.
The more reason to find an experienced all-rounder who knows and understands different types of hair, a challenge but the... read more
